WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS
Romans 10:9–10
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
LEADER TAKEAWAY
Salvation is not earned through ordinances, rituals, or a list of religious requirements. Scripture points us to faith in Jesus Christ—trusting in who He is and what He has done—as the basis of salvation.
TRY SAYING
“It sounds like you see salvation as something we have to earn through certain ordinances or religious steps. Can we look at what Romans says about how a person is saved? It points us to faith in Jesus rather than to a list of things we must accomplish.”
